Austin Liquors

I have shopped at Austin Liquors for years however, after having 3 consecutive bad experiences with the same employee, I have refused to shop there again. The first experience was when I was buying whiskey for my husband. I went in and was shopping while wearing my prescription sunglasses. When I went to check out, the cashier told me to take my sunglasses off. She then proceeded to look at my eyes very closely to make sure I didn't have bloodshot eyes ( I assumed that was what she was looking for). Anyway, I put my prescription sunglasses back on, continued with the sale and left the store wondering if I was walking a straight line. The second bad experience at Austin in Shrewsbury was when I returned some bottles and cans. One, and I stress ONE of my bottles didn't go through the machine. I brought it to the same employee that made me take my glasses off. She said very rudely, "Did you buy it here?" "I did buy it here." I said. She said it wasn't in their system but she would give me the 5 cents. Gee, lady thanks so much for giving the deposit money back to me. I just could not believe that I could spend hundreds of dollars in their store and then get grief for one bottle. Now onto bad experience number 3. I went in to return a bottle of wine that my husband purchased there(it was leaking from the band around the cork). I also had some returns in the cart. I went to the customer service desk and who should be there working. That's right. The same woman. Before I could even say a word she barks at me, "Returns are out that door and to the left!" I proceeded to say "I know where the returns are, I need to return this bottle of wine." She could tell that I was very upset. So, she then said "I was just trying to help you out". Unbelievable!! That was the LAST time I set foot in that store and will never shop there again. I'd rather give my business to a store that appreciates my patronage and treats me with some respect. I gave them plenty of chances, now I'm letting people know about my experiences at Austin Liquors in Shrewsbury.
