Mr Sweeper Sales & Repairs in Moody Street is HORRIBLE.
called Mr. Sweeper and was greeted with a friendly voice telling me to bring the vacuum in. When I did so, I was bombarded the second I walked through the door with jeers at my Bissel vacuum. I said sadly something to the extent like "My vacuum is crappy." The sales people all laughed and said, "No, we don't use that word here - but here are some other models that are more bang for your buck." I was then roped into a 20 minute conversation about the Miele vacuum and the Hoovers that surround the store.
Back to business and I was told that I would get an estimate the next day on my vacuum. I explained the problem and went on my way...with a pamphlet for a $400 Miele vacuum. I guess I can be a sucker myself. I was excited about the possibility of my vacuum being irreparable and "trading in" (his words) my vacuum for a discounted Miele. Basically he sold me on doing a trade in.
Cut to the next afternoon where I get a phone call telling me that my Bissel is in no way able to be repaired - it was almost as if it had a scarlet letter S on it. He practically threw the vacuum through the telephone at me. He told me that my vacuum could not be repaired because the motor was sitting in a pool of water. Wh...wh...wh...whaaaaat??!? This is impossible. The vacuum is stored in a closet. In the middle of my house. Where no water lines can possibly touch it. It is virtually impossible that the motor could be sitting in a pool of water inside the machine. IMPOSSIBLE. He told me (in an aggravated voice) that it was not going to be repaired and that it would cost way more than the vacuum was worth. "This vacuum deserved to be thrown in the dumpster." I agreed at that point, discouraged by the fact that I couldn't even "trade in" my vacuum for a newer model. I hung up. Moments later, in clarity, I realized that I would need some proof. I called back within 5 minutes and demanded that the vacuum be returned to me and I would pick it up. I was told that it was ALREADY in the dumpster! I said to go get it out and I would pick it up.
A few days later, I pick up the vacuum and was greeted only by disgust and with comments of "Bissel will never refund you your money. Your vacuum is destroyed...." I am still in discussion with Bissel, but have lodged a formal complaint with Bissel and requested that they remove Mr. Sweeper as their authorized repair shop as they do not in any way respect Bissel or their customers.
