Babe's Mediterranean Bistro in Truro has been an amazing discovery for me. I happened across the place one day while biking through truro, looked at the menu, quickly realized that this was going to be an unique experience and not another fried seafood type of place, and so I went in for dinner. One word: WOW! I don't even know where to begin... The diningroom was almost as adorable as my waitress, and the food was so absolutely fantastic, I've been back three nights in a row. They say the food is Mediterranean, with an emphasis on the Turkish and the Moroccan, but whatever it is, for me it was just a whole bunch of amazing new flavors that had my palate singing and dancing. In particular, the Mohammara (sp?) was incredible, as was the Turkish Beef Kebab, the Lemon Chicken Tagine, and oh yes, the meatballs! They call them koffe or something, they were wonderful. They also have a great selection of wine that seems to have been selected with a great deal of thought involved, as far as pairing it with the food is concerned. All in all, I'm thrilled with this little place and only wish that they would open up a branch in my hometown so I could eat there all the time.
