This is the best pet store ever! (: Prices are low, the store is clean, the animals are healthy, and the owner and workers are friendly! Check it out! If you don't see the animal that you're looking for, ask! They can order almost any pet for you! Good luck!

I find it hard to believe that Tufts told you "poor breeding" was the cause of your bird's death. If they did, that's a very poor decision on their part and very unprofessional, to say the least. Why wouldn't you have the bird checked or request a vet reference and bill of health prior to spending 2 grand on her? At the very least, you should've had her examined the day or day after that she was in your home. There's a million and one things at your home that could've either made your bird ill, or worsened the condition if she was already sick. Is this your first large bird? Was the bird stressed due to the move? Were the eyes, nose, and mouth clear and normal in appearance? Do you own teflon pans? Did you dust, clean, and vaccum your home prior to bringing the bird home? It seems as though you didn't take all of the precautions necessary for safely acquiring a new bird and that the death of Peanut could've probably been avoided with the proper precautions and attention to small detail that's necessary when getting a new avian pet. Sure, there's a possibility that Peanut was sick when you acquired her but you wouldn't have to sue to get your money back had you taken the proper steps to ensure you were getting a healthy bird. You're just as much at fault as you feel Scales, Tails, and Feathers is. Not to mention that you endangered the lives of every other bird you house when you bring home a sick bird. Being such avid bird owners, these things should be obvious to you, right? Also, one of you says poor nutrition, the other says the cause of death was poor breeding. So which is it? Knowing how expensive macaws are, why would it seem strange that Miguel wouldn't immediately replace the one you bought? As for the pet broker, I doubt that part of the story as well. "Pet brokers" very rarely tell their clients when a breeder has been "shut down" but that they "continue to sell birds". Again, very unprofessional of him, if he even is a pet broker. How do you know he wasn't just a friend or another individual who uses the same breeder? Did he walk in and say "Hello, I am ______ and I am a pet broker"? Didn't think so. By the way, their store does comply with Massachusetts State Law and if you didn't feel so, you could've called the SPCA and they would've gone there that day to inspect the premises and evaluate it's condition. Everytime I've gone in there, that store has been clean. Uneaten food on the bottom of the cage isn't something to freak out about considering their cage is more than big enough and it doesn't pose a health issue. He's taken great steps to expand his variety and make room for new, more interesting animals while accomodating the needs of all kinds of exotic pet owners. I'd recommend a million people to go to him for advice, supplies, and for purchasing a new addition to the family. Both of your posts conflict each other and have way too many unanswered questions to seem plausible, much less true. And yes, I really did just take 5 minutes to type out this post because 95% of the time, the purchaser of a supposedly "sick when we bought it" pet is just as much at fault for the death of their animal, if not more so than the person they purchased it from.

This is a great pet store. Clean and kept nice there should be no problems here. The owner is nice and won't try to sell you things you don't need.

How dare you say that it was lack of nutrition that Peanut died. I loved and cared for that bird, and the only reason I felt drawn to her was to get her out of a store that was so poorly kept clean. How dare you suggest that Miguel didn't realize his store was unclean and unkept. We looked into the state laws your store does not meet or comply with any regulations or standards for how any pet store in Mass should be kept up. I called the board of health regarding this store and will continue to call until conditions are met or this store is closed. I have and will post the necropsy report that Tufts gave to me, which states that she never had a chance, that poor breeding was the cause! Also when I went to ask for the money back, I over heard a pet broker state to Miguel that yes the breeder had been closed down, but proceeded to sell birds. I thought it was a bit weird that you never replaced a macaw, now I know why.
