The School Of Oom Yung Doe in Davis Square defrauds individuals of their dignity and their money.
K.R., an individual is coerced emotionally, mentally and physically into a two year contract for a worthless "black belt". In fact, brad heilman or rob lucier are aware that the law allows an individual to void the contract. That is why they demand the full payment up front. oomyungdoe [brad heilman] could care less if an individual reaches black belt. oomyungdoe is about power, greed, control and money; that mentality flows from the criminal convict 'grandmaster' john c. kim/aka jack park. Recommend that you read "Herding the Moo" by Joe Smith. Joe Smith was an instructor in the 80's and accurately details the systematic deception of this criminal cult. What KR described has not changed since the upside down king has been doing business in the US since the early 70's.

I have to agree with Charlie K. I was a student of the Natick School. When I signed up for the introductory session (at that time $290 for 2 months, one uniform and some bean bags), I really enjoyed it. I needed the discipline and I definitely felt immediate and positive physical changes. However, before the introductory deadline came up, I was asked into the office and was hardballed repeatedly to sign up for the 2 year black belt program. I declined, citing that it was just too expensive for me. I was told that "nothing is worth more than your health". They tried to get me to put it on a credit card, take out a loan from the bank, borrow from friends or family - even take a second job! I got so stressed out and brain-washed by these people that I eventually signed on for a 6 month course, which incidentally was NEVER even suggested or acknowledged by Brad, the head instructor. Brad said the only option was the 2 year program. When I mentioned the fact that the price on the posters that were posted in the studio (which they made sure I read) were less than what I was quoted, they simply said that prices had gone up - that they weren't expected to honor those prices that were, in effect, advertised. I went into the 6 month program after paying 50% of the fee upfront (the whole thing being a pro-rated cost of the 2 year program). At one point in the program, during a particularly gruelling session, I left the floor to get some water when I was told by one of the instructors that that wasn't allowed. Seriously. A drink of water was not allowed! I also noticed that at least one peron in my class who had a higher rank than I could not follow the instructor's basic directions and caused several of the other students more than a little misery as we were held in pose while he tried to figure out what it was he was supposed to do with his body. I realized right then and there that the whole thing was a scam. I had felt uneasy at the financial coercion, helpless as I was pushed beyond my limits, frustrated at being denied a sip of water. I left and did not fulfill my monetary obligation. Cost of intro: $290.00 Cost for 6 months: $1500.00 Cost of freedom from that "school": PRICELESS. I believe that everyone should make their own decisions in life, so try it if you want to, but don't go in with blinders on. This place does not care about you. They will advance anyone who has the money. You can get this conditioning elsewhere from other people who actually have respect for human life and not the almightly dollar. Buyer Beware....

The School Of Oom Yung Doe in Davis Square is a scam. If Jonathon G. wants to dispute the fact that john c. km, aka. jack park, was convicted along with michael d. mckay in TAX COURT, then please present credible evidence. Both individuals served sixty month prison sentences respectively.
All this information is on the yahoo message board "oomyungdoe". One needs to join the group in order to access the information in the FILES/LINKS/PHOTO sections.
Jonathon G. says he experienced positive body changes. Ok, then why doesn't john c. kim/ jack park demonstrate in public? When has a higher belt, other than jerry barfield, demonstrated in public? Jonathon G. please tell everyone how an individual has the "opportunity" to become a school owner. Please tell the general public the cost of attending a weeklong/weekend and or sagae seminar.

hmm, i dont know what others think of this school but ive been practicing for a few years now and the chronic asthma i suffered on a constant basis is gone, my allergy problems have been cut in half, the pains in my lower back from doing construction are completely gone and my day to day focus and energy is amazing. Which would make sense why many of my friends and family now practice and have only good things to say to me about it. I actually practice this martial arts and ive seen nothing bad come of it, actually ive seen even more from it than i would ever have expected.

School Of Oom Yung Doe in Davis Square is a scam. This is not a martial arts style/system with a verifiable lineage. john c. kim(aka. jack park), founder, was found guilty in Tax Court of conspiring to defraud the US Gov't. Court documents and media coverage can be found on the yahoo message board(oom yung doe). The public has access to the message board; in order to access the court documents, an individual has to join the message board. The FILES/PHOTOS/LINKS sections contain court documents and an arrest warrant for john c. kim/jack park. Also found guilty was michael d. mckay who is one of the owners of the oomyungdoe-new england group.
This is a cult in which people are coerced into "school ownership"which is nothing more than an upward flow of cash to oomyungdoe inc. in San Diego, CA. Students are pressured into paying large sums of money for seminars which have not martial art function and or value, john c. kim/ jack park does not demonstrate in public and most of his underbosses have body problems due to fabricated movements. STAY AWAY!
