I will never shop in this store again.
While shopping, I happen to find a skirt on sale and decided to purchase it. I handed the sales clerk my Amex card. She stated that they do not accept Amex. OK. The cost of the skirt came to $29.40. I happen to have $29.17 in my wallet and mentioned this to the sales clerk...no response! I handed the 29.00 to her, then told her that I would go next door to the atm machine to cover the 40 CENTS. My instinct was to forget the purchase since if it were my store, I would have thrown in the 40 cents for the customer and not put them through any trouble. What's the big deal...It would have been good customer service. When I returned with a $10.00 bill from the atm, another sales clerk said they did not have enough ones to give me change for the 40 CENTS! that I owe.
As my blood pressure began to rise and my embarrassment took over as other shoppers were waiting in line witnessing this ridiculous display of poor customer service, I canceled the purchase. At that an older gentlemen who may have been the owner sitting behind the counter said, "Oh, I have change for that $10.00 (gee I thought he was reaching into his pocket to throw in the 40 CENTS). I said no "thank you", "I'm canceling the purchase". "I didn't need that skirt that badly."
I guess I would have been treated a little differenlty if I was trying to purchase one of the overpriced $300.00 sweaters. I guess the 70% off rack is for us low-lifes. Teresa from Newtonville, Ma
