Cafeteria is a cool, casual, contemporary atmosphere where the comfort food of "yesterday" gets schooled by the flavors of "today" to create a dining experience that is "tray chic."
Traditional Italian-American cuisine and creative cocktails in the heart of bustling Newbury Street. - Gerrish Lopez
In Short With a key location, high tables and booths, an outdoor patio, and a lively staff, Cafeteria is a hot spot for lunch or dinner. Seasonal ingredients from local markets feature in the menu. Pastas and entrees cover the basics (house spaghetti, sea bass) and the more adventurous (gnocchi with short ribs, oyster mushrooms, and gorgonzola, kobe burger). Salads, paninis and pizzas are also available. Cocktails such as the strawberry basil martini add kick to a meal, while desserts such as the apple crisp or gelato offer a fine finish.
Cafeteria is good but not great. The location, via al fresco dining on newbs, is amazing but the service, the hostess particularly, is rather snobby. The food is good though, I recommend the tuna tartar. The white Sangria is also very tasty!
