Buckets of barbecue, giant beers and a rowdy atmosphere: This is where Boston's inhibitions come to die. - Eric Grossman
The Scene One of Boston's preeminent dives, Dick's gets its fair share of raucous revelers--weekends often host numerous bachelorette parties. This reputation is in stark contrast to the tourists who stop in to take a break from shopping in the surrounding Quincy Market shops. While smart-alecky servers provide plenty of attitude, mismatched chairs and long, communal tables ensure a convivial atmosphere. Social singles populate the elevated bar area to imbibe cheap 32-ounce bottles of domestic beer.
The Food The restaurant encourages diners to reconnect with their inner child: Crowd favorites like tender pork ribs and moist king crab legs are served in large steel buckets and utensils are discouraged. Bar patrons devour troughs of fries and chicken fingers while slurping down frozen Kahlua mudslides served in a take-home glass. Dishes for the timid are offered, but expect a wisecrack from your server.
