Joe, a devoted student of genuine barbeque cooked slow and low, and a master of the Art of Q, had gathered his "Q" recipes over years of travel and tasting. Love it! It can be a little slow, but the staff is friendly, the music is good (loving the Sunday night music) and the food is fantastic. I'm a big fan of the Kansas City Sticky on top of baked beans, and the Memphis sauce on... well... everything. Try the sausage - it's awesome.

I grew up in Charleston, SC and know what true southern BBQ is like. I am very pick about barbecue but loved the BBQ Smoken' Joes has to offer. I got the North Carolina Mustard sauce on the pulled pork platter that was delicious and reminded me of back home. Also, the collard green were fantastic and done the true southern way. They were cooked with ham and had a nice spicy taste to them! The service was great, the place was cozy, and the music was relaxing. I loved the whole atmosphere and especially the food!!!

They have a fantastic selection of sauces. I recommend the Kansas City Sticky. Their Hotter than Hell wings are phenomenal. The perfect combination of heat and taste.

This was great, Joe himself greeted us and ate an ENTIRE habanero pepper on a dare for our table. The wings were AMAZING!!(and free)

I could probably live off their wings... great friendly staff too! I'm lucky to have it within walking distance of my place but it's definitely worth a trip from anywhere in Boston.
