People told me that buying a home is one of the most stressful processes one will go through -- but Megan Kopman from Ballast Realty Group sincerely made every step of the transaction comfortable & enjoyable. As a first-time home buyer, I knew nothing about the housing market or what was required of me -- but at our first meeting, Megan provided me with a detailed time-line & worksheet so I would know what to expect and when to expect it (mortgage dates, inspections, hiring a real-estate attorney, etc). I told her the kind of condo I was looking for and the very next day, she had a list of great properties that fit my criteria. Even more impressive, she provided me with an analysis of the location of the properties so I could factor in the re-sale value when making my final decision. That won me over as it showed she wasn't looking for a quick sale, but really cared about helping me make a decision that would be financially beneficial to me in the short and long run. I actually initially selected a property that Megan talked me out of due to re-sale considerations, and she found me a much better property within a week. Also, being new to Boston I didn't know much about the neighborhoods, but Megan broke down each of the areas for me. She even took the time to drive me around the neighborhoods in which we were looking at condos -- pointing out grocery stores, running trails, and hidden neighborhood restaurants. The only sticky part of the transaction was due to a mortgage mishap due to chaos the mortgage lenders were facing, but Megan worked directly with my mortgage broker to fight tooth and nail for me so that I would receive my mortgage in time for the closing and at the original rate that was quoted to me. Not only was Megan extremely fun & easy to get along with, her attention to detail and timeliness was amazing. She had been a real estate attorney at one of Boston's major law firms before opening her own brokerage -- and it shows. Even the real estate attorney who represented me in the sale told me she could tell Megan was an attorney by the level of professionalism and attention to detail she exerted throughout the transaction. As a first-time home buyer, I was full of questions and doubts, but Megan helped me into a beautiful new condo in 2 months. The transaction was quick, seamless & FUN!
