    Sports Management Worldwide would like to invite you to join us for the first time in Boston at Champions Bar at the Boston Marriott Copely Place for one of our Sports Career Conferences or world famous "Meet and Greets" at 5pm on September 9th. These events are held during major sporting events so that you can experience the heart of the action. "Conferences" provide an invaluable opportunity to learn about numerous careers in sports and network with professionals currently working at the highest level of sports. Head coaches, GMs, Directors of Player Personnel and Scouting, ESPN writers, experienced sports agents, former professional athletes and many others will be in attendance. For anyone that is looking to work in sports, you can't miss this opportunity to meet and learn from sports executives and the SMWW staff, all in the atmosphere of a sporting event you have always dreamed of participating. A "Meet and Greet," is a short informal get-together to network and meet fellow SMWW students, faculty, agents and sports career minded individuals. All sports career minded individuals are welcome. Special guest speakers include: Dr. Lynn Lashbrook , President and founder of SMWW “ You gotta have a ticket to catch a foul ball.” Willy Badger: Director of SMWW JAPAN and creator of The Japanese Baseball Expert Course. The Japanese Baseball Expert Course  is for Japanese or Non-Japanese sports enthusiasts who wish to develop a career in baseball as an interpreter, translator, sports tour guide or become an expert in a particular field such as Agent, Scout or in Sports management. The Mentors are able to speak both English and Japanese to make this a definitely international course. The Grand Prize Five people will be rewarded for attending this event with a Boston Awesome VIP tour of Fenway Park with SMWW’S very own graduate Ryan Latham Fan Ambassador of The World Champion Boston Red Sox. You will go on the field during BP and brush elbows with future Hall of Famers. A once in a lifetime chance.     Boston Landmarks Orchestra Presents Verdi's Requiem Wednesday 7:00pm at DCR Hatch Shell

    The Boston Landmarks Orchestra and Charles Ansbacher, Artistic Director, are proud to end their second season of The Landmarks Festival At The Shell with a performance of Verdi’s Requiem. The concert will feature some of the world’s most talented vocal soloists, from a soprano to a baritone. Barbara Quintiliani, a soprano and a Quincy, MA native, Mary Westbrook-Geha, a highly sought after mezzo-soprano who has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Yeghishe Manucharyan, a young tenor who has performed with the likes of the New York City Opera, and finally, Robert Honeysucker, an internationally recognized baritone who has appeared with the Boston Symphony Orchestra will all be featured in the program. About Boston Landmarks Orchestra The Boston Landmarks Orchestra presents exceptional orchestral music performances in significant architectural, historical, and geographical settings throughout the Boston area, always free to the public. We aim to help our diverse audiences grow in their appreciation both of the fine music that we offer and the special places where we perform. Through its Concerts for Children, the Orchestra is one of the few performing arts institutions in the country to commission new works for young people that both teach a history lesson and introduce youngsters to the orchestra.     Trumpeter Chris Botti to perform with Keith Lockhart and The Boston Pops in Symphony Hall September 18 And 19! Star-Studded performances include Sting, Steven Tyler, Josh Groban, and more. This special collaboration with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops will be broadcast nationally during PBS’ pledge drive in March 2009; a DVD and other bonus items will be released exclusively through PBS in March as well. Sony Music Entertainment will release a live audio CD of the performance in December 2008, followed by a nationwide DVD and Blu-ray release in April 2009. “Chris Botti Live in Boston” is a follow-up to Botti’s platinum DVD “Live with Special Guests” PBS Special/DVD released in 2005. Since the release of his first solo album in 1995, trumpeter Chris Botti has created a series of recordings which have made him a star in the realm of contemporary jazz and pop world. Through his singular combination of lush atmospheres and thoughtful improvisations, Botti has earned both critical acclaim and mainstream appreciation for a succession of best-selling albums including When I Fall In Love (2004, #1 Jazz Album) and To Love Again: The Duets (2005, #1 Top Jazz Album). In the studio and on stage, Chris Botti has worked with such leading singer-songwriter/composers as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Sting, and renowned film composer John Barry, among others; as a sideman, he has appeared on dozens of albums, compilations and soundtracks. Botti's association with Sting--who joins Botti on both To Love Again and When I Fall In Love--dates back to 1999, when the trumpeter joined the pop legend's band as featured soloist on the "Brand New Day" tour, which lasted two years. WGBH, Boston’s PBS station, is a media partner for the concert, and will have tickets available for the September performance. Chris Botti has been a great supporter of public broadcasting, and has provided WGBH with 600 tickets that they will be offering during their August on-air fundraising campaign.
