A cozy and intimate atmosphere in an excellent downtown location. - Contributor
The Scene Touting itself as "Boston's Baby Grand," this hotel property offers a nice alternative to the massive luxury chains in the area. It has been open for over a century, and it prides itself on a unique flair reminiscent of smaller European hotels. Here you will find wood-burning fireplaces in the corner rooms, customized furnishings, marble bathrooms and a doting staff offering personalized service.
The Details Rooms are high-ceilinged and decorated with an elegance and sophistication that includes four-poster beds, fresh flowers and framed artwork. A small fitness facility is available. Three different restaurants offer a range of choices. The hotel is walking distance to Newbury Street, Symphony Hall and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
I love this place. It can be nice and lively if you sit at the bar, but it's not hard to go off to a table and find a quieter place where you can actually chat with friends.
