I felt compelled to write into this site because of all the trash talk that has been posted about this great place. I have come to know the staff well, and bought 2 dogs here myself, so I know how the kennel treats the customers and puppies. Their customer service and quality of care is superb! These people truly care about the animals, as well as their customers. I am familliar with their purchase contract, and have no idea why anyone buying a puppy would be taking matters into their own hands and pay vet bills if their dog needs vet care?? The kennel will take care of all medical expenses for the first two weeks provided they are given the opportunity to do so (It is in their contract). It baffles me to see that people are angry that a dog would have a cough! (there is a reason they call it "kennel cough"). I think maybe some people look at buying a dog the same way they would buying anything else. It is not at all like buying a bike or a tv or a stuffed animal. Dogs are alive, and play with other dogs which means they can catch a cold or anything else that other dogs have. I guess you could compare it to your kid going to school and getting a cold from another kid. It happens. If you don't keep a good eye on it, they can end up with bronchitis at the hospital. Bottom line, this is a great place run by great people. Take the negative posts for what they are worth........NOTHING AT ALL!
Just saying M.
Pik A Pup Kennel in holliston, MA On August 3,2009, we revisited , Pick-a-Pup after seventeen years! For all those years, we have enjoyed and loved our Toodles"the Poodle" and Max,our Bichon/Poodle...what joy they gave us! Dieing within a few weeks of each other(WOW! 17 years in dog years made them how old?) we were totally devastated and depressed...to honor them, we thought, why wait to get another puppy? The house seemed so empty and too quiet! A call to Pick-a-Pup had Leah describing a 5 1/2 month old female Bichon...a few days later, another call and this time , Tina described this little sweetie...off we went after conversing with you, Barry, about the "details"of shots, contract issues, etc.Tina's "Sweetie" has become OUR sweetheart...born on Valentine's Day,she has been christened "Ma Cherie"...It is important for you to know (and new dog owners) that after getting a thorough checkup at our vet, the doctor noted how relaxed and calm Cherie was...so noted due to the loving care she received from you and your staff! Given a complete bill of health with all shots/worming,etc in perfect order...it was off to the groomers(Pampered Pet-Home of Champions-in Paxton,Massachusetts)...again a very calm and sweet-tempered young lady...MORE praises for Pick-a-Pup! Thank you and congratulations for offering "First Class" Puppies..it is obvious you take pride in and love you animals! Without question, we recommend Pick-a-Pup...more than patient with our questions...clean...professional...It should also be noted that we researched many other puppy places but were always drawn back to Pick-a-Pup!!! Pik A Pup Kennel in Back Bay is One detail is that we made bussiness in holliston
Livia S.
Pik A Pup Kennel in Back Bay is not a very good bussiness I don't really know what to say..we bought a baby in there and the baby was sick...we took him to vet and the vet said that he had pneumonia and it was clearly that the dog wasn't good enough to be sell should be treat first...the vet said that he need x-rays and antibiotics immediatelly so we went with there (pick a pup ) and they said that they were treat the puppy but just with medications without x-rays that he didn't need x-rays to treat pnemonia and one of the employees said that one day before the sell us the dog their vet check him and it was everything ok..so what kinf of vet was that ?!? saw the poor puppy was sick with pnemonia and said he was ok ...I don't know..It was not a good bussiness for us..and we do not recommend bussinness with them..they sold him to us very sick...after we bought him we went to search and find out more about pick a pup and we saw a lots of bad reviews and unfortunately ours experience wasn't good too..just like many others.. So I don't recommend..the person in there didn't let me see the dogs said that I was going to spread germs for them..BS..So..think very well before go there...
