I always thought the back bay salons, specifically on Newbury Street, were stuffy and expensive. James Joseph Salon changed my mind. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I love to sip on a cocktail and be pampered! I have had highlights done there a few times, and am very happy with them!

James Joseph Salon is the best salon ever!

Back Bay Salons don't get any better than this Newbury Street gem! It's pretty nice sitting high above all the hustle and bustle of Newbury Street, relaxing with a glass of wine and getting styled by Boston's most notable stylists.

I just started going to James Joseph recently and was overall Extremely pleased. This being an extremely hard to come by seeing i have become exceedingly picky being a gal who has been getting her golden locks highlighted for the past decade. Regardless,Robin highlighted and chopped away with ease to pure perfection. They are also very time efficient which i have found not to be the case at other Salons.

James Joseph is one of the best and most popular salons in the city, and for good reason. They listen to what you want, have great suggestions, and gives excellent cuts. Most importantly (to me, anyway)is that they just started using some new color technique, that nobody else uses in the city, which basically makes your color more vibrant and makes it stay in the pristine condition for MUCH MUCH longer. The salon itself is great: very spacious and has a patio, which is great in good weather. You can just hang out there while you wait for your color to set, sipping tea or coffee. The stuff is friendly and accommodating, and not at all pretentious. If you can, get your hair washed by Paul or Dee (sp?) They give the best head massages! As far as stylists, I think they are all amazing. I love Seth and Igor. Enjoy!
